Finishing Touches

Since it was Saturday, I didn't feel compelled to do anything around the house chore-wise.  We went to Michaels on our way to the bank, where I discovered I'd left my wallet at home.  I picked up a roll of chain and some findings. Then we went home to get my wallet so we could trek back to the bank and transfer the money from my unemployment debit card to our checking account.  I hope that will be a direct deposit by next week.  Unlike most people, I don't like carrying around a debit card. I think my money is safer in a checking account and we'll use it from there to either pay bills or transfer to savings if there is a surplus.  The pieces to the left are new bronzite and howlite pieces I made today.

The stuff I'd already made was waiting to be finished with chains, jump rings, ear wires and clasps.  Here is a set I made to go together.  If I make either a pendant or bracelet, I try to make a set of earrings to go with it.  That way there is something matchable. If I am lucky, I will have an opportunity to sell some of this over the summer -- and having matching pieces might increase my chance of selling more.  I hope!
There were a lot of pendants waiting for chains.  In fact, I ran out of clasps.  The spool I bought is 12 yards. I'm not overly thrilled with how it goes with copper, but I have it so I will use it.  Next time around, I'll be a little pickier about what I choose but was limited by what was at Michaels.
This is a bunch of other stuff I finished off. I also churned out a couple more pairs of earrings.  The day slipped away. I managed to make us a pizza for lunch, but had no idea what to do about dinner... so we did Chinese take-out.  I love me a poo-poo platter and no matter how nutritionally responsible we try to be, every so often we need to just bliss out on our favorite collection of greasy appetizers.  More jewelry will probably be produced next weekend.  Not sure what I'll be making, but it will be with much of the same material shown here.  Tomorrow I plan to just rest!
